Library Governance

With roots going back to the Gloucester Lyceum of 1830, the Gloucester Lyceum & Sawyer Free Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the library and information needs of the City of Gloucester. It is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) with a predominantly educational and cultural purpose. As a municipal body whose sole purpose is to serve the needs of the community, the Sawyer Free Library receives the majority of its operational revenue from the City.
