January in the Matz Gallery
Suellen wedmore, poet laureate emerita for the town of Rockport, has been painting since she was a teenager. She has
studied painting with Skip Lawrence of Pemaquid, Maine, at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and is presently in a workshop with Ron Straka at the Rockport Art Association. She recently won first place in the Quill’s Edge Press “Woman on the Edge” contest, and her poetry chapbook , Mind the Light, was published with her painting of Thacher Island’s north tower on the cover.
