Beginning in February 2024, the Library has Massachusetts state and federal income tax forms available for the public. Instruction booklets and 1040 forms can be picked up from 21 Main Street, on a table beside the door to the Library on the second floor.

Federal forms and publications are available from the IRS and can be found at: irs.gov/forms. You may also order forms to be delivered in the mail through: irs.gov/orderforms. If you need to contact the IRS directly, please visit their website at irs.gov or call the phone numbers below.

If you are planning to file your taxes electronically using library computers: Please be aware that the security and privacy of your data cannot be guaranteed on public computer stations. Technical problems may occur beyond our control that could interrupt the process.

More importantly, the Library cannot guarantee that you will have adequate time to finish filing on our public computers. Our computers have a one hour limit which cannot be extended and not all online tax filing options allow you to save your progress. You may borrow a Chromebook for use in the library, which have a three hour limit that cannot be extended.

If you choose to file your taxes online at the Library, whether on your own computer or a public station, Library staff may assist you in getting on the computer and getting online. However, Library staff CANNOT provide any assistance in tax preparation or advice about which forms you will need. If you require tax help, please visit one of the resources below.
