eBooks and Audiobooks
Sawyer Free Library provides access to popular ebooks and audiobooks though NOBLE Overdrive. Compatible devices include a Windows or Mac computer, Kindle, Nook, iPad/iPhone, and more!
You must be a resident of a NOBLE community to download material. You can checkout up to 4 titles at one time for 7, 14, or 21 days. Renewals are not allowed, but you can borrow them again after they expire (if available). Place up to 10 titles on hold at one time. You’ll receive an email notification when a title becomes available. Once the notice is sent, you’ll have 4 days to borrow the title.
To meet the growing demand for ebooks, libraries across the state are joining together to participate in the Commonwealth eBook Collections. This is a statewide eBook program that is opening up access to fiction, non-fiction, historical documents, academic research and more. The Sawyer Free Library is proud to provide this service to Gloucester residents.

Search the Axis 360 collection of ebooks and downloadable audiobooks to easily find, check out, and download titles – it’s free and available 24/7! The collection contains thousands of popular fiction and nonfiction titles for children, teens and adults from leading publishers such as Penguin Random House, MacMillan, HarperCollins, Hachette and Simon & Schuster. Browse reviews, recommendations, or simply search by title, author, or subject to find a title. After check out, Axis 360 seamlessly delivers the title to your device using a cloud-based system. Compatible devices include the iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows, NOOK® and Sony Reader™ devices and more. Checkout up to three titles at a time. If a title is not available, place a hold to be notified when the title becomes available. Once notified, you will have three days to check out the held title. Holds can be place on up to five titles at a time. You can return a title early, or the title will automatically return at the end of the lending period.

Here you will find digital collections from leading publishers and archives around the world. These materials are curated by subject and accessible from anywhere. Explore anything from romance novels to comic books to children’s stories and silent films with this vast collection of multimedia content. BiblioBoard Creator is the world’s best multimedia publishing tool to craft digital exhibits to showcase special collections or multimedia outreach materials. All content on BiblioBoard Library is offered for unlimited, multi-user access on all major web browsers and through native apps on devices, including iPad®, Kindle Fire HD® , Nexus® and Galaxy Tab®.
Discover items to help with academic research at EBL. With over half a million ebooks from more than 600 leading publishers encompassing more than 1,200 imprints, EBL covers all academic subject areas including Social Science, Medicine, Technology and Language & Literature. EBL titles allow multiple-user access and can be downloaded or transferred to any device that supports Adobe Digital Editions or the free Bluefire Reader app. This includes the iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, Android devices and most ebook readers.
