The Adult Learning Center provides individualized GED and ESL tutoring. The entrance to the ALC is on Middle Street across from the YMCA. It is on the second floor.

Individual tutoring is provided by a teacher and volunteer tutors. Cape Ann adults can improve their reading, writing, math, and English as a second language. Or they can prepare for the AED and other entry-level exams like the CNA exam. Immigrants in our community can also prepare for the citizenship exam at the ALC.

This individualized tutoring makes it possible for the adults of Cape Ann who want to improve their literacy skills to enter the ALC program at any time. The goals of the learning, the books used, and the pace of the study are all tailored to each learner. The ALC's library contains some of the best learning materials available for basic language and math development.

Please contact Melissa Buchanan, Coordinator, during ALC open hours at (978) 281-9763 x 23.
